Getting certified in Acrobatic Arts is the best thing that has happened to our studio.

I was certified in Module 1 in 2019. Before becoming certified, we had 14 students in a class we called “Dancer’s Gymnastics.” We now have 102 students enrolled in Acro. I have since taken the progressions and spotting for aerials workshop, flexibility and contortion, and a few master class series.

Two of our instructors have been certified in the preschool program and I hope to become certified in Module 2 in the near future. I use the Acro resource app weekly and love it. My students also love their progress cards.

I have seen incredible growth in my students. Using the progressions, our students are gaining skills quickly and safely! We competed in Acro for the first time this year which was a lot of fun and a great confidence booster for my students.

I grew up only taking dance. I never took gymnastics or Acro but Acrobatic Arts has given me all the tools I need to run a successful Acro program and I’m so grateful for that!

Thank you Acrobatic Arts for creating a progressive syllabus and exam process centred on student and teacher safety and success.

The exam process was a positive one for all teachers and students. Scheduling the exams was a simple process. The administrative support from Acrobatic Arts helped me know what was expected and how to do it. I appreciated the teaching support from Miss Sandra. She addressed my questions about the exam process, the grading system, as well as helped to troubleshoot mastery of skills and appropriate drills to contribute to skill development. Leading up to exams, Acrobatic Arts remained in contact with me to ensure studio preparedness for virtual examination. I believe the administrative and teaching support is what helped to contribute to the positive experience. The exam itself was a positive one for my students as well. Miss Sandra guided them through the exam, giving cues and small corrections to allow my students to achieve their best possible result. At the end of the exam, she congratulated them and allowed them to tell her about their weekend plans or upcoming competition season. She also had them thank their teacher for her work in preparing them. We appreciated the teacher acknoweldgement! I can say without a doubt that this has been the best exam experience I’ve had so far.

I’ve done ballet, jazz and tap exams over the year and this was my first time doing in-studio Acro exams (I’ve done the multi-studio ones with one student over the past year) but I can say without a doubt that this has been the best exam experience I’ve had so far. I am so grateful for all that AA has done to keep students motivated throughout this last year and all the support you have provided the teachers. I have only taught Acro and been certified for 3 years yet I feel completely prepared and supported to be teaching the correct technique safely. Allowing them to engage with the app has made the work interactive and fun for them, while at the same time remaining challenging.

I have found the AcroDance Resource Center incredibly useful in my classroom. I love that I am able to concretely show my students what a skill is supposed to look like. They love the comparison tool-- where they can compare their skill directly side by side with the demonstrated. I have found that even in a few short weeks they have improved immensely with the use of this tool. When it comes to technique, my students thrive on concrete, objective information. This app hands that to them on a platter. I had one of my senior students say to me "wow, this syllabus is honestly the only one who is connected to the 21st century". I laughed it off, but truly believe it. Technology is a great way to connect to students these days. Allowing them to engage with the app has made the work interactive and fun for them, while at the same time remaining challenging.

As a teacher I really appreciate that EVERYTHING is in one place. From the administrative paperwork to class plans to levelled descriptions. I don't have to go fishing through a book--- it's so easy to just pull it up and reference it whenever I need it. It's obvious to me that the Acrobatic Arts team genuinely cares about the safe development of the dancer, as well as constantly supporting and understanding the needs of the teachers. This is something hard to find in a syllabus these days. Acrobatic Arts know what's up and has definitely got it together! Bravo.

I wish I had taken it sooner.

I really enjoyed this course. I wish I had taken it sooner. I love the progressions and see how I can incorporate some of these progressions even with students who begin at an older age. I also teach a dance class for our friends who have special needs. Many of your circle songs and activities will work wonderfully in that class also. In fact, I will use some this week in that class! Thanks to Acrobatic Arts, my Acro classes went from 19 students to 47 this past year! (120 student studio)  I’m expecting it to grow more this year!

I just wanted to say thank you, again, for such a helpful training this past weekend. Sunday night, just after checking and seeing “pass” on my account under Module 1 Certification, I was teaching a teen elite soloist who has complained of having some long-term back problems that she thought might be medical and not dance-related. She ran her Acro tricks and I was able to notice and correct a lumbar-crunching issue in about 5 minutes, tops… we were both just about teared up after she responded to my feedback quickly and completed the skill several more times, looked at me and said, “This is the most helpful thing a teacher has ever said to me - now it doesn’t hurt at all.”

It takes the guesswork out of progressive, safe training.

Acrobatic Arts is an INCREDIBLE curriculum. It takes the guesswork out of progressive, safe training. Students feel comfortable trusting the process and successful because they are learning proper dance technique, not just interpretations of gymnastic-like skills. The progressions teach kids (and parents) that it is okay to honor where you are, but you have to put in the work and the time to get stronger. The standard for Acro is raising thanks to AA and I am proud to be an Acrobatic Arts Certified instructor.

I enjoyed the course very much and Acrobatic Arts did a great job of facilitating the course on Zoom. I was a bit worried about getting a truly efficient training through the Zoom platform. However, it was SO organized and professional. They did a wonderful job of sharing videos, asking us to demonstrate and allowing time for questions. I completed module 1 training in January and I feel that despite being on Zoom, this training closely modeled the in-person training. I did not at all feel "shorted" by training on the Zoom platform and I truly appreciate the professional and thorough training opportunity; especially during this time when encouragement, for so many, is even more desired than normal.

The lesson plans provided to use were some of the most straight forward I have worked with

I really enjoyed the course and picked up some very helpful tricks and ideas. I was really impressed with the explanation of maturity that each age group and milestones should be able to achieve, and found it really interesting. I also liked how different age expectations in the lesson plans were given. I am a secondary school teacher with almost 20 years teaching and have attended many gymnastic courses in different disciplines over the years. The lesson plans provided to use were some of the most straight forward I have worked with and would feel very comfortable passing this to a new young teacher to read and feel confident they could use them in the way they were intended. I am also very grateful being able to do this course over Zoom and enjoyed being online with people all over the globe. I would not have been able to do this course had this not been offered. It was both a cost effective way of being able to participate but enjoyed experiencing learning alongside "colleagues" around the globe and I appreciated seeing the International standards set by Acrobatic Arts. Thoroughly enjoyed course.
